Ways to Support the Capital Campaign for the Charles Frey Academic Center at Lancaster Bible College

The Campaign for the Charles Frey Academic Center will provide the philanthropic support needed to fully fund this vitally important new building on the Lancaster Bible College campus. In addition to outright gifts of cash, there are alternative ways of participating in this capital campaign. Because Lancaster Bible College is a 501(c)(3) organization, contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

A Multi-Year Pledge

Donor(s) may choose to make their campaign gifts payable over a period of up to five years with the completion of a written gift form.

A Gift of Real Estate or Securities

Lancaster Bible College supporters may own real estate, stocks, bonds, or mutual funds that have appreciated beyond their original cost and may consider making their campaign gift with these appreciated securities. Often, such a gift represents a tax-efficient way to support the College.

IRA Charitable Rollover

Recently made permanent by Congress, donors age 70½ years or older may consider making a direct transfer from their IRA accounts to Lancaster Bible College. The basic details and restrictions for taking advantage of this opportunity to support Lancaster Bible College are as follows:

You must be 70½ or older when you make your gift, and the gift must be made from an IRA – no other retirement plans (such as 401k, 403b or SEP accounts) qualify.

Your gift must come to Lancaster Bible College outright – it cannot be used to establish a life-income arrangement or support a donor-advised fund.

Because the distribution will be free from income tax, it will not generate an income tax charitable deduction.

Planned Gifts

In addition to current gifts that will support the campaign, planned estate gifts are very important to the future of Lancaster Bible College. There are a number of options for creating a planned gift either currently or through your estate, including charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, outright bequests, and gifts of life insurance. In some cases, new or increased planned gifts may qualify the donor to name a space in the Charles Frey Academic Center. Please contact the Advancement Office for details.

A Gift of Jewelry, Art or Other Property

Under certain circumstances, Lancaster Bible College may accept gifts jewelry, art or other property.
